Fretwork being made and assembled

Our Bayswater workshop makes decorative timber fretwork and reproduces existing details from photographs, drawings or surviving samples. The photographs show actual pieces in the workshop: cut patterns, assembled runs and the space needed to handle large panels.

Documented workshop-to-finished work: the Oslo Hotel

The original workshop brochure records FR4 assembled arched fretwork without a motif and BS6 balustrade panels for the Oslo Hotel / The Block 2019. It includes both a workshop photograph and the completed building. The documented scope is those timber components, rather than responsibility for the whole building.

A documented finished interior example

The original brochure identifies HFR5 frieze work made for Toad and Mandy’s House Rules home in 2018. The photograph shows the finished decorative work across an internal opening. Interior fretwork and exterior verandah fretwork have different materials and exposure requirements.

Choose the product and show us the opening

For a verandah, start with the external fretwork and frieze range. A complete assembled panel, an individual repair component and an internal hallway design are different orders. Include the design or surviving pattern, clear opening width, available drop, number of openings and delivery postcode.

For an internal opening, the shop mini visualiser shows all 19 HFR/DFR patterns. Choose a visible pattern, enter your opening size in millimetres and compare the proportions. It keeps your size when you switch patterns and can add the selection to your quote. The full internal fretwork visualiser gives a larger working view. These tools preview proportions; the workshop confirms the finished setout and price.

External LOSP H3 treated pine is for above-ground outdoor use; the internal MDF insert in a clear pine frame is an interior product. Confirm the material and finished dimensions for the actual job, and use the preparation and painting instructions before fitting exterior work.
