Delivery and pickup

Decorative Timber Delivery Across Australia

How your order gets from the workshop to your job, what needs special handling, and how long the making takes.

Made in Melbourne, delivered Australia-wide

Every Heritage product is made or prepared through our workshop at 852 Mountain Highway, Bayswater, Melbourne. You are welcome to collect by arrangement; ring 03 9720 1996 before you drive out.

Across Melbourne we supply the Inner East, Inner North, Bayside, the South-East, West and North-West, including Hawthorn, Kew, Camberwell, Malvern, Toorak, South Yarra, Prahran, Richmond, Fitzroy, Carlton, Northcote, Brighton, Albert Park, Essendon and Williamstown.

Outside Melbourne, we deliver to metropolitan and regional Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, plus the Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory. Freight depends on the product, quantity and destination, so ask us to include it in your quote.

Long, assembled and oversized work

Some of what we make needs particular handling rather than a parcel service. A run of verandah posts, an assembled gate, a balustrade panel or a privacy screen is long, or heavy, or both.

Where that is the case we work the freight arrangement out with you once we know what the order is and where it has to go, and we will tell you if collecting from Bayswater is the better option.

How long it takes to make

Some of the range is in stock and ready to go. Anything that has to be made takes 1 to 4 weeks.

That is the making, not the delivery. Freight sits on top of it and depends on where you are, so ask us for both when you ask us for the quote.

Custom and made-to-order work

Most of what we make is cut, machined or assembled to suit one order. We go over the measurements and the order details before anything is cut, and we may ring you if something does not look right.

If you are unsure about a size, about whether a product suits the job, or about pickup and freight, ring us before you place the order. That is the cheapest phone call in this business.

When it arrives, do not paint it yet

Leave an external product at least 72 hours after delivery before you paint it, so the timber can acclimatise to where it is going to live, and keep it dry and under cover in the meantime.

Priming happens before installation, on all six sides, and our 25 year guarantee on external LOSP H3 treated pine used above ground depends on it. The whole method is on our painting instructions page. Read it while you are waiting for the delivery, not after.

If something is wrong with the order

Ring us as soon as you can, so that we can help. Because so much of what we make is cut to order, a change may not be possible once production has started. Our returns and refunds page covers the rest.
