Who you are dealing with

This website belongs to Heritage & Decorative Timber Products, a period timber joinery at 852 Mountain Highway, Bayswater VIC 3153. Everything we make is made in Australia, in that workshop.

What we ask you for

When you send us a quote request through this site, from our quote page or contact page, the form asks for

• your name;
• your email address;
• your phone number;
• your postcode;
• and a description of the job.

Your name, email address, phone number, postcode and job description are required so that we can identify the enquiry, clarify the measurements and return a useful quotation. Opening sizes, call-back time and extra notes are optional unless the selected made-to-size item needs them. The quote page also includes the items you added to your quote list.

The enquiry forms can accept photographs or drawings. Selecting a file does not send it. When you submit the form, your details and selected attachments are uploaded to the website server and sent to the workshop by email.

To protect an unfinished enquiry from a reload or crash, the forms keep a temporary draft in this browser tab. That draft can include the details listed above, is stored only for the browser session, and is not uploaded just because you typed it. The draft uses browser session storage; a browser that restores tabs may also restore that draft. The quote list uses local storage and can remain in this browser between visits. Remove items from the quote list or clear this site's browser storage to remove that local list.

If you ring us or email us instead, then what we hold is whatever you chose to tell us in that call or that message.

What we do with it

We use it to price your enquiry, to send you a written quotation, and to talk to you about that quotation. That is what it is for.

The website sends submitted enquiries to info@heritagedecorativetimber.com.au. The workshop uses Google Workspace email to receive and handle them. A success message means the website's mail service accepted the enquiry; it does not mean a staff member has already read it.

What the website records on its own

Separately from anything you type, this site carries the measurement and advertising tags this business runs. Each one is a service run by another company, not by us, and each holds what it collects under its own terms.

• Google Analytics records which pages are looked at and how visitors arrived at them, so that we can see which pages are useful.
• Google Ads records that a visit came from one of our advertisements, and whether it led to an enquiry or a phone call.
• Google Ads call tracking. The phone number shown on this site may be a Google forwarding number so that calls from advertisements can be measured.
• Website hosting. Panthur hosts this website. The hosting service handles requests and submitted enquiry details and attachments. The enquiry service uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions.

Cookies

Those services set cookies in your browser. You can block them or delete them in your browser's settings, and the site still works: the quote form does not depend on a cookie to send.
